Welcome to London West End WI

This Month

October 18th 2017
Local History

The area surrounding where the London West End WI meets is a landscape full of characters and events that are only just fading into a slightly dusty history.

Going back no further than a hundred or so years, this talk is about the people who deserve to have a few moments spent on their achievements before we go out to the streets and pubs they, like us, saw every day as they made their fortunes, laughed and cried and changed history.

Our speaker this evening, Geraldine Beskin, is the owner of Atlantis Books on Museum Street and a long-time resident of the area as well as a popular speaker at LWEWI meetings.

Guests are very welcome (£5 for non-WI members). If you're not a member, please email us at londonwestendwi@gmail.com so we know to look out for you!

St George's Bloomsbury, 6 Little Russell Street, London WC1A 2HR. Doors open at 6:00pm for a 6:30pm start.

Please bring along refreshments to share with the group, (they don’t have to be home made!)

Membership for 2017 is £39.00. Membership is non refundable and will expire at the end of the year. Guests are very welcome (£5 for non-WI members). If you would like to come along to the next meeting then email us at londonwestendwi@gmail.com.

Craft Club:    3 October 2017

At September's Craft Club we'll be making Christmas wreaths, led by Nicky and Jane. All materials will be provided. See the Craft Club page for more information.

The craft club meets on the first Tuesday of the month at the Atlantis Bookshop on Museum Street, from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.  Come along for a craft lesson, cup of tea and a gossip! There is a small charge, which is dependent on the number of attendees, which covers the cost of the room.
