May review of the month

Earlier this month our members attended the Community Preview of Manga at the British Museum, a week before it opened to the public. Just one of the benefits of being a member of LWEWI!

At Craft Club we were making greetings cards, using the simple but very effective technique of iris folding.

At our monthly meeting in May we - finally - had our long-awaited AGM, where Claude was voted in as our new President, taking over from outgoing President Pam. Thanks also to all the members who have agreed to join our committee, and thank you very much to our outgoing committee.

We also enjoyed a tap-dancing lesson from the wonderful Nick, and just about managed to get all our moves in synch! We can now add tap to our repertoire, alongside Morris dancing, swing dancing and carnival dancing... watch this space to find out what dance we'll be learning next!

Coming up in June

Felt succulent making at Craft Club on 4th June.

At our main meeting on 19 June we'll be having a talk by Millie from the Crick Institute about science and biological cells.

May monthly meeting

Our next meeting is Wednesday 15 May at 6.30pm at St George’s Bloomsbury. We’ll start with our long-awaited AGM, then goon to a spot of tap dancing! Learn to shuffle, tap and flap with Nick, and we’ll be learning a timestep at the end. No experience necessary for this beginners session, please wear hard soled shoes and bring your enthusiasm!

As ever, please bring some refreshments to share, and do email us if it’s your first time so we know to look out for you.
