What we did in April (and coming up in May)

Earlier this month our members attended the Community Preview of Edvard Munch at the British Museum, a week before it opened to the public. Just one of the benefits of being a member of LWEWI!

We also had our first social event, a meal out a Pizza Express. Don't worry if you missed it, there will be more coming soon.

Our April meeting was held at T2 tea store on Tottenham Court Road, where we indulged in a spot of tea tasting. Thanks to all who came at the earlier time, and thanks to T2 for a fascinating evening!

Coming up in May

Iris folding at Craft Club on 7th May.

At our main meeting on 15th May we're getting our dancing shoes on. We will be having a tap taster session - learn to shuffle, tap and flap with Nick, and we'll be learnng a timestep at the end. No tap shoes (or previous experience!) needed, but please wear some hard soled shoes if you have some. Hopefully it will also be our long-awaited AGM!

Next Meeting, 17 April

Our April meeting will be tea tasting.

Please note the change of time and venue!!

We will need to meet at the lovely tea shop T2 on Tottenham Court Road - it’s number 25 on the corner of Stephen Street. We need to be there at 6pm

The tasting and introduction to tea will last an hour, and we should get both a talk about the history of tea, and the chance to try a few samples. The store manager is expecting us; if you're new, do drop us an email ahead of time so we know to expect you.

Here’s a map so you know how to get there:

We will return to the Vestry Rooms after the tasting at 7pm for the rest of the meeting, including any notices and voting in the AGM (still TBC).

March (and early April... round up)

March began in grey weather, and with a cancelled craft club due to lots of people being away. However, we made up for it with a lively main meeting a couple of weeks ago, where Natalie and Claude led us in a team quiz.

Turns out we have some very competitive, and knowledgeable, members; well done in particular to those who got all the 'Celebs as babies' photo questions correct! Thank you to everyone who brought something for the prize table - no-one left empty handed. And welcome to those who came along for the first time, we hope to see you again soon!

April's craft club went ahead this week, where a group of us knitted hats for Innocent smoothie bottles, in aid of AgeUK and the Big Knit campaign. We'll be sending them off in May or June, so if anyone wants to knit more, please do so and we'll be collecting them at the April and May monthly meetings, and May Craft Club. You can find more information and patterns here: http://www.thebigknit.co.uk/join-in

Coming up in April we have a visit to the British Museum this Sunday, and a dinner at Pizza Express - you should have received full details if you've requested to attend either of these. If you put your name down but haven't heard anything, do email us ASAP.

Our monthly meeting on Wed 17th will hopefully be tea tasting at T2 on Tottenham Court Road, and may or may not be followed by the AGM. Full details will be emailed out soon!
